Tyra doesn't have a bad singing voice, but that's only one of the reasons I posted this link. The Letter Z's angst reminded me of a filmstrip I watched way back in kindergarten. (Remember filmstrips where the cassette played the audio storytelling portion and you advanced to the next frame when you heard the "BEEP!"? How do we explain those to the Millennials?) Anyway, the film was about a boy named Zachary Zwee who was angry about always being the last in line because of his last name. Funny, even at that young age I identified and empathized with the boy, probably because I, too, was forced into the tail end during classroom lineup time. It's stuck with me all these years, although I hadn't even heard the story again since kindergarten. (We're talking 1980-'81 here, people.) And then I found this link this morning from another blogger who mentions the story. Turns out the boy's name was actually "Zween" but I remember nothing else about the story, not the London setting nor the ending, nothing. May have to track the tale down, but until then, here's the link:
